I am lucky to have met Baaba Maal and also the unlisted balafon player on the short segment in north ghana where Aaron Bebe Sukura is playing beautifully by the trees. Aaron has visited us twice here in Asheville when he played at the LEAF festival www.theleaf.com
I was able to have dinner with Baaba Maal last year as he is the cousin of my dear friend Abdul Tounkara from San Luis , Senegal.
If you ever have the chance please visit the beatiful culture of Senegal.
I've gone twice and will continue to visit often.
